From daughter to mother

It is so amazing how fast we grow! Sometimes, (esspecially if you are anxious to grow up) it seems like forever, but really, the years that you think there are left, turn into days.

Ten things that will make those days, a lifetime of learning:

1. Helping your mom make dinner. I can assure you...you WILL cook when your a mother!
2. Cleaning. Sure....everyone can dust, but can they do it well?
3. Mentoring younger siblings. Younger siblings are a good practice for your own children.
4. Shopping. No, I'm sorry, but I'm not talking about shopping at the mall. Learn how to shop well. Anybody can go pick up cookies, crackers, and to make it look better, throw in an apple. That is not a good way to be feeding your future family.
5. School. No, school is not fun, but you can do so much with what you learn! Homeschooling your own children, finding out the cheaper price for the amount of groceries that your getting, and bills. You're not off the hook...You will have to pay bills.
6. Helping your neighbors, family, and friends. Your life will be transformed into a world of service to your family.
7. Any talents that you might have...learn to use them! Music, art, writing, needle work, anything! What if your husband loses his job. I'm not saying you should go out and get a job. I believe women should stay home and not try to 'experience the world', but if you have those talents, don't you think maybe you can get a job from home?
8. Spending time with family. You will need them one day and it is God's plan for families to love each other.
9. Knowing that your life will change and working towards the goal of being a Proverbs 31 women. If you work on all these things, but don't really believe any of it. You will not be that women.
10. Learning how to dress. No, not learning to put a shirt on, but learning to dress modestly. By the age of 12 children should be spiritually mature. Don't you think we definitely need to be there when we're twenty or thirty?!
Now, I'm going to leave you with this verse:
1 Timothy 2:9-10
"I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God."

Blessings,
Andrea
